Why
do companies commission Music for their productions?
What
ever your subject matter, and whatever your reason for
making a programme, getting your message across to the
listener is of primary importance.
 It
has been long accepted that music plays a vital part in
ensuring that the message is not only supported, but
that it introduces that all important entertainment
value that keeps the viewer glued to their seats.
Music
4 Docs believes that composing music to well crafted
pictures can give a production strength and vitality
that simply sourcing off-the-shelf music can never
achieve.
The
Composer
Joss
Sanglier has been composing music for a variety of media
productions for nearly 20 years. In this time he has
worked on productions for British Pathé News, Carlton
Productions, Discovery, British Airways, The Cystic
Fibrosis Trust, Philips, Blue Book Films, Transmedia and
many more.
His
compositions have ranged from daft jingles for
advertising to full orchestral compositions for flagship
documentaries - and even the odd crazy ident for Andi
Peters.
Our
Philosophy
Commissioned
music, especially in long form, has a reputation for
being horrendously expensive and needing a very long
lead time. Indeed, if you require the Royal Philharmonic
to play your score, this will probably be the case.
But
for the majority of productions, it is the composers
craft and experience and not the size of the orchestra
that will make the final programme exceptional.
Our
experience is both in composition and dubbing and this
combined experience means that we are perfectly
positioned to produce the music you require, on time and
to a sensible budget.
