How
much does Commissioned Music Cost?
The temptation to say "how long
is a piece of string" is almost overwhelming! But,
we can give some indications.
If we take a 50 minute documentary, we
would normally write around 35-40 minutes of music.
Assuming we produce all that music in-house and don't
use outside facilities or musicians, that would cost
around £3000.
Please
note, that all the music on the showreel
was produced in-house, though the couple of vocals were
recorded elsewhere.
Our
prices include the use of the music for all broadcasts.
However, we retain the rights to the Performing Rights,
and would ask you to ensure that appropriate cue sheets
are supplied with every copy of the production. We can
supply these for you.
Music
for other TV productions, such as game shows and drama,
would be priced on a more project-to-project basis, as
what is required varies significantly.
However, whatever you require music
for, don't panic about the cost until you have spoken to
us. We try to be as flexible as possible in all our
workings, and that includes the price too!
